Night riding is far trickier when compared to the time when the sun is up. Even some seasoned riders with decades of riding experience under their belt will suggest you not to ride during night time since it attracts a number of risks which are sometimes hard to avoid. Know the dangers of the night –

As the light fades away, visibility becomes a major concern. And then it’s a great deal to spot what lies ahead on the next corner. If that was not all, most of the intoxicated accidents are recorded during the night.

Increase your vision –

Make sure that your headlight bulb has enough power to fairly illuminate the road up ahead. Sometimes the headlamp needs adjustments which can be done easily. To check that your headlamp is working fine, find a leveled ground near an uncluttered neat wall and place your motorbike about 100 yards from it. Light up the headlight, put the bike in the low beam which should fall only on the ground, and now turn on the high beam, the light should now fall on the wall above the ground. Also, make sure that you are astride during this test and the bike’s suspension is taking your load exactly as it does during the ride. Make sure that you clean your headlight lens and make it moisture free, as even small amount dust and condensation can degrade your headlamp’s quality significantly. Know the riding skills and stay alert –

Make sure you focus on the lane marking lines when you are hit by the high beams of the oncoming traffic. This wouldn’t let you distract from the road and will also save you from going blind for split seconds. Stay very alert at the intersections and red lights as most of the accidents happen at such places.  When you are waiting at a red light, make sure to blink your brake lights repeatedly to make yourself more visible.
